Through A Cultural Lens: A Juneteenth Celebration

June, 17, 2022 | Theory Studios

Beck&Call Hospitality in collaboration with Gold Was Made Fa’ Her hosted our annual Juneteenth celebration honoring the photographic memory of Mr. Ray Carrington III and Mr. Earlie Hudnall, Jr.

Through A Cultural Lens was held at Theory Studios and consisted of an evening celebrating Houston’s premier black photographers and showcasing some never before seen photos from Mr. Carrington’s work.

Since starting Beck&Call Hospitality, the team has hosted more than 10 events and collaborated with many businesses in the Houston community. Through A Cultural Lens was a true culmination of our mission and hard work. Having this event right in the heart of the Third Ward community, where we hope to host our first bed and breakfast, collaborating with local businesses, and celebrating the legacy of two photographers who impacted Houston’s black community made this event truly represent Beck&Call Hospitality.

Thank you to our friends, family, and Jack Yates alumn for attending Through A Cultural Lens. Thank you to Bria, from Gold Was Made Fa’ Her, for assisting us with this event. Thank you, to our vendors for transforming and bringing the space to life. Finally, thank you to Mr. Ray Carrington III and Mr. Earlie Hudnall, Jr. for sharing your legacy.
